The Media is in love with the Inauguration

The media as of right now is in full effect in order cover the inauguration that is to take place today at approximately 11:30am.

Media coverage will show every aspect and angle of this historical event through the radio, the television, and newspapers.

The Hollywood Reporter says that," this could be the most widely viewed inauguration in U.S. history, surpassing the 42 million who watched Ronald Reagan’s first swearing in." The event can be seen on BET, MTV, TV One and several other major channels on TV.

"This is a critical period in our country’s history," says CBS Evening News executive producer Rick Kaplan, "you want to have your A game on this story.”

This is the day, January 20, 2009, where history is in the making and Americans will finally be able to witness the first black President to be sworn in.

So no matter what TV channel you are on, what radio station you are tuned in to or what newspaper you pick up, today’s inauguration will be covered at best.

  1. I watched the speech given by Obama and a few other candidates during this ceremony and I must say that it was phenomenal. I think it's great that he is the first African American President but even more important is hopefully the fact that people voted for him, not because he was black, but rather for the job that he will do and the policies that he stands for.

This blog made for a pretty interesting read and until you mentioned it, the fact that not only would the inauguration be covered on several television stations, but on radios as well; well I don't think the full impact of the situation sank in with me until just now.

  2. I did not get a chance to catch the inauguration, but from most websites I had been on these past few days, I almost felt as if I attended the event myself. It is great that the country is looking into this event more than the past inaugurations because is the one where we need a change in our economy.
