There has been so much strife in the news about the economic situation and one of the biggest riots lately has been of Citibank, but now the tables are turning towards AIG.
President Obama was trying to keep the top executives from getting these million dollar bonuses because he knows that the economy cannot afford it. It has recently been released that about 73 high-end executives were paid out over $1 million in bonuses a piece and that 11 of those individuals don’t even work for the company anymore.
AIG is under heavy scrutiny due to the fact that the company received a portion of the bailout money that was intended to help the company overall and its employees, not the people who are already at the top.
The news have been showing clips of angry people who feel betrayed by AIG, and blogs that have been written to express the anger of many clients of the company.
"Millions of Americans are losing their jobs -- millions. And to some degree they're losing their jobs because of actions taken by some of these firms," Sens. Max Baucus said. "At the same time, they're giving themselves bonuses. I mean, give me a break. What are these people thinking? That's part of the problem. They're not thinking."
It is going around that these individuals who received the bonuses may have to pay income tax and excise tax on the funds because of the large amounts for which they were paid out in.As of right now, congress is trying to figure out a logical way to get the bonuses back but AIG is saying the bonuses are written within the employess contracts.

Off With Your Heads!
In Mexico their has been an ongoing battle dealing with illegal drug wars that has gone a little too far.
Five heads were discovered in separate ice chest near a road, underneath a ficus tree in the state of Jalisco.
The five individuals in this particular brawl are few among the several thousand of people who have been killed due to this ongoing drug war.
Over 7,000 Mexican soldiers have been sent to several different areas to possibly help maintain the killings and findings of decapitated heads that seem to continue to grow over time.
On each box, inscribed messages ensured that further threats and violence will persist if the battle continues on.
"Like these, I am going to finish everyone," one box says. "I'm going after you, 'Goyo.'"
The victims' eyes were taped shut and all of them were reported to be men, between the ages of 30 and 45 years old.
President Obama has spoken out about the horrible incident that has taken place in Central Mexico, saying that the U.S Military can help Mexico with its rising drug war violence.

The Missing Men...
Last Saturday, four friends sailed off the coast of Florida on a planned fishing trip at around 6:30a.m.
"The Air Force Reserve sent a C-130 airplane and a Pave Hawk helicopter to assist the Coast Guard's search, which also included several other helicopters and airplanes. Three Coast Guard cutters were also on the water," said Coast Guard Capt. Tim Close.
Two of the individuals that are missing are NFL players Marquis Cooper from the Raiders and an NFL free agent named Corey Smith.
So far, only one person was found since the tragic disappearance of the four individuals. Formal USF player, Nick Schuyler, was found floating on top of the 21-foot single engine boat alone in the middle of the ocean.
Schuyler said all of the men had on life jackets and were too exhausted to continue holding on to the boat in an attempt to wait on being rescued.
"We now know we are looking for persons in the water, not a boat," said Close.
This story has gone nation wide and has been aired on every local station within the United States, the families of all the missing people still have high hopes that they are alive somewhere waiting to be found.
It has been over 48 hours since the disappearance of the other three men and the odds of finding them alive are nearly slim to none.

The Image of Controversy...
In the New York Post last Wednesday, a very controversial image was published in an attempt to criticize the stimulus package that was passed by President Barrack Obama.
The image showed two Caucasian police shooting a monkey with the officers saying, "they'll have to fine someone else to write the stimulus bill."
"It was not meant to be racist, but unfortunately, it was interpreted by many as such," said Rupert Murdoch, The Chairman of the New Post.
This cartooned imaged upset millions around the nation whether they were black or white.
The Steve Harvey Show, one of the nations biggest radio stations, brodcasted this image on their website and talked about the image on air for the last few days.
The NAACP are even attempting to get the cartoonists, Sean Delanas, fired for the image that indicates clearly a racial slur to many who are attempting to move on from that negative historically racial time from centuries ago.
"Do you really think I’m saying Obama should be shot?" said Delanas, "I didn't see that in the cartoon.

Its Falling from the Sky..
A mysterious fireball was spotted falling from the sky over the Texas area last Sunday. And the sighting has received attention from all types of organizations
“I don’t know what I saw in the sky,” said Eddie Garcia, a videographer for News 8 Austin, “It was something burning and falling really fast.”
NASA is looking into it to see if maybe it was caused by a meteor shower.
And all U.S officials are making sure it was not due to the recent collision from two satellites that took place earlier this week in outer space.
Every local news channel had aired the incident and has everyone on their toes to ensure the safety of everyone within the Texas areas and beyond.
“And you know this is something that you see at night clearly during a meteor shower or something like that, but you don’t see something like that during the day,” said Garcia.
Officials have warned all pilots to be alert and aware of the possibility of falling debris at any moment.
It makes me proud to know to know that the news is still attempting to report on important events rather than the lives of famous people who are no different than me.
So whether you reside in Pennsylvania, Florida or Texas, please be aware of any “fireball” that may enter the earth’s atmosphere.

Would you like Breakfast with that Coffee!?!
Due to the economic times, all of the major companies are being negatively impacted by the current recession we are facing. But one company is dealing with the situation by changing up their available menu.
Starbucks, which is one of the largest coffee making companies in the U.S. has started to offer a few breakfast combos to help accommodate the economic times.
If a coffee is ordered, you can choose either a sandwich or a roll. If a customer orders a latte, he/she can choose from a coffee cake or oatmeal.
This new approach for Starbucks is a way for the company to attempt to compete with other companies that have dollar menus like Wendy's and Duncan Donuts.
“Starbucks reported a profit of 9 cent per share in the last quarter of 2008, compared to a 28 cents per share profit a year earlier," said reporter Erik Middleton of CNN.
The company has cut 6,700 jobs and is still in the process of closing down 300 stores nation wide.
Hopefully the new breakfast combo will help keep Starbucks afloat and bring the infamous coffee shop more revenue.

One too many babies..
A fairly young single mother of six gave birth to octuplets on Monday at Kaiser Permanente Bellflower Medical Center.
The mother of now 14 children did not want her name to be put in the papers. But once she started receiving offers of having her own TV show and interviews she finally agreed to go public.
Nadya Suleman, said that she wants $2 million dollars to tell her story and I know someone will be willing to take her up on that offer.
“I looked at those babies, they were so tiny and so beautiful,” said Angela Suleman, the grandmother of the children.
Angela Suleman said her daughter is infatuated with children and did not want to abort any of the eight embryos she carried during her pregnancy.
The grandfather of the 14 children informed the media that once the children were out of the hospital, they would be sent off to a secluded house where no one would be able to be find them.
She conceived the babies by IVF, and medical examiners are wondering if the procedure was done accurately because of the number of children that were conceived.
“I cannot see circumstances where any reasonable physician would transfer [so many] embryos into a women under the age of 35 under any circumstance,” said Arthur Whist, a fertility doctor in Redondo Beach and author of “Concepts and Misconceptions.”
And although the pregnancy was a risky one because of the affect it could have had on her and the babies, they are all healthy and are scheduled to leave the hospital in a few weeks.
